Imagine equipping your customer service people with the correct page of a product brochure or a copy of the customer’s contract. Imagine being able to view drawings, photos, video clips, text instructions, MS/Word documents, and Excel spreadsheets. The possibilities are virtually unlimited. And TCM’s Document Library, linked with desktop tools, makes it all possible. A document might be a .DXF or .DWG CAD drawing, an .AVI movie, a .TIF or .BMP image, an MS/Word .DOC, and MS/Excel .XLS spreadsheet, or even an NC Part Program.

Automatic cross-referencing

Document Library provides automatic cross–referencing, linking all of your documents to appropriate elements in the TCM database. Any document type on any client or server can be linked to any TCM key data set.

For example, documents can be linked to a particular part number, routing operation, employee badge, customer, and more. TCM always opens the document with the correct Windows software in the appropriate mode (for example, your choice of read–only or update). And, all of this, occurs without leaving your TCM application.

Here’s an example of the most current drawing for part # F0004-1. This drawing is linked to a product, Customer Order, Shop Order and an Estimate – and can be accessed quickly from any of those applications for reference.
