Engineering Change Control
Managing the change process
Change is a way of life. Whether an Engineering Change Notice (ECN) is requested by a customer, from manufacturing, procurement, engineering, or accounting, you need the right tools to manage and communicate the revision. TCM’s Engineering Change Control provides the capability of defining the change, and managing the approval process needed to effect the change.
After a new ECN is defined, the impact on Item Master, Standard Bills of Materials, and Standard Routings may be described under that ECN. The description of the pending change may be made using a powerful combination of the bill and routing maintenance tools along with the appropriate narrative. The approval process is then defined and monitored. Email notification to the specific individuals involved with pending ECN’s and approvals helps you expedite, coordinate, and implement the change.
Approval Reminder and History Reports
The Approval Reminder report lists all pending change requests along with approval date requirements.
The History Report lists all the change requests, together with the description and status.

ECN Maintenance
Here’s a glimpse of the ECN Maintenance. Notice this includes multi-level approvals and automatic update of BOM upon implementation.
