Nearly every manufacturer has the same fundamental concerns: What products should be produced? In what quantity? By what date? Without the answers to these questions, no detailed planning is possible. MRP resolves all of these concerns easily!
MRP allows your products to be scheduled and forecasted and a complete material plan to be prepared. This material plan determines the quantities and delivery schedules of the needed components.
Material Requirements meets the needs of the shop floor through its ability to use captured bills of material. You can not only schedule based on predicted demand, but you can also stabilize your production rates by producing items for stock in periods of low demand.
Material Requirements is integrated with TCM’s Inventory Management and Bill of Material modules. And, to realize the full potential of MRP, TCM’s Customer Order Processing, Purchasing/Receiving, Requisitions, Shop Floor Control and Master Scheduling modules are highly recommended.
With complete Material Requirements functionality in place, your management can make use of sound planning data that can be seamlessly translated into an achievable schedule of purchasing and production orders. While the final decisions and scheduling are left up to your people, TCM’s Material Requirements lets them make those decisions far more accurately.
